Hi! I'm a 2x breast cancer survivor, currently receiving weekly maintenance chemo treatments. I think what you do at Kleinpeter's is important. I greatly appreciate the fact that your cows are not given growth hormones. I'm a single mom with two growing boys - 8 & 11 - and we are all big milk drinkers. While it would be nice to be able to buy and eat organic - everything - it is not finacially feasible. It certainly doesn't make sense, nor is it practical to pay $4.00 for a 1/2 gallon of milk. Especially when I can get hormone-free, home grown milk at regular prices! Thanks again and keep loving those cows :-)

Hi Beverly,
Thank you very much for your email to us. We are very proud of
the fact that we do not inject our cows with synthetic growth hormones. Not
only is it unnecessarily cruel to the cows, but it is not good for humans to
consume what I call are unproven health risks. We do love our cows, and we
have a Farm Manager and two Herdsmen who focus only on Herd Health 24 hours a
day. We were just informed that we are the first farm in Louisiana to be
certified as Free Farmed by the American Humane Association. This is big
news for us, especially since they certify all types of farms ranging from
chicken farms, beef cow farms, hog farms, chicken egg farms, etc. We are the
first in Louisiana to pass their stringent certification process. What does
this mean to you? That Kleinpeter Dairy really does love their cows, and
really must treat them very well to pass the American Humane Association's
standards. Also, it means to you that the better we treat our cows, the
better that the quality of our milk is, healthier cows make healthier milk.
Healthier milk makes a healthier person, that's what I think.
Please spread the word about our milk, and
thank you for buying our milk, and for your email.
Sincerely, Jeff Kleinpeter.
